During 19-25 December 2008, ITD and the Office of the Vocational Education Commission, Ministry of Education, Thailand, organized a training workshop on “Young Entrepreneur Camp” 2/2009 at T.K. Garment Conference Room, Mae Sod district, Tak province, Thailand.

Young Entrepreneur Camp 1/2552 between 8-14 December 2008 at Mukdahan,Thailand

During 8-14 December 2008, ITD and the Office of the Vocational Education Commission, Ministry of Education, Thailand, organized a training workshop on "Young Entrepreneur Camp" 1/2552 at Pukdeechart Conference Room, Nawamintarachinee Mukdahan Industrial and Community Education College, Mukdahan, Thailand. The objective of this training was to disseminate the knowledge of international trade and border trade to vocational students in thailand and neighbors.

The ITD, in cooperation with Asian Development Bank (ADB) under the technical and financial support, jointly organized a training workshop on “Trade in Services” during December 1 – 4, 2008.

Professional Development Workshop for instructors and associates of ITD on the SEATRANET Advanced courses

The second meeting of the South-East Asia Trade Policy Training Network (SEATRANET) was held on 8-9 December 2008, at the Lao Plaza Hotel, in conjuction with the the meeting of APEC EIP government Focal Points. The meeting focused on both a review of progress to date and development of future plans and strategies.

Training Workshop on “Economics and Trade in Goods” during November 24 – 28, 2008 at the ITD, Bangkok, Thailand

The ITD, in cooperation with Asian Development Bank (ADB) under the technical and financial support, jointly organized a training workshop on “Economics and Trade in Goods” during November 24 – 28, 2008. This training course was held for the 4th times. The main purpose of the workshop was to increase individual and institutional capacity of the GMS countries in addressing the policy formulation and negotiations in the field of trade in goods and related matters. Experts and speakers invited to the event included Professor Simon J. Evenett, University of St. Gallen, Switzerland – a world-class expert on economics and trade in goods, Dr.Watcharas Leelawath, Deputy Executive Director of the ITD, Dr.Somchin Suntavaruk, Advisor of the ITD, Mr.Paiboon Ponsuwanna, Vice Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries, and Mr. Peng Bin from the UNESCAP. In this event, 16 participants were from developing countries government officials namely China, Lao PDR, Vietnam and Thailand.

Training on "Trade Policy and Development" on 10-21 November 2008 at ITD

The International Institute for Trade and Development-ITD, in cooperation with Phnom Penh Plan for Development Management -PPP has organized the training course on Trade Policy and Development in the GMS. The ITD and PPP will hold the training course with 14 middle level position participants from GMS counties during 10-21 November 2008 at the training room of the ITD in Bangkok, Thailand.

Training Course on "Capacity Building Program for SME Stakeholders in Lao PDR and Other Countries in the Mekong Sub-region"

The International Institute for Trade and Development (ITD) cooperated with Indian Institute for Foreign Trade (IIFT) and Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI) to organize the training course on Capacity Building for SME Stakeholders in Lao PDR and other countries in Mekong Sub-region. This course was held during 23 – 25 September 2008 at Conference room, LNCCI, Vientiane, Lao PDR, with 24 participants from Lao PDR, Cambodia and Thailand.
