ITD Organized Training Course on International Trade Negotiator

On March 27, 2024, Mr. Suphakit Chareonkul, Executive Director of the International Institute for Trade and Development (ITD), chaired the closing ceremony of the “Training Course on International Trade Negotiator” held from March 25-27, 2024, at the CM2 Room, 4th floor, Novotel Bangkok Siam Square.

During the training on March 25, Dr. Arm Tungnirun, Faculty of Law, Chulalongkorn University, lectured on “Geopolitical and Geoeconomic Competition,” while Ms. Prewprae Chumrum, Executive Director of Bureau of Trade in Services and Investment Negotiations, Department of Trade Negotiations, Ministry of Commerce, Thailand, spoke on “International Trade Negotiation Skills and Techniques.”

On March 26, Mr. Kiat Sitteeamorn, former President of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, lectured on “Diplomatic Arts: Negotiating on the World Stage,” followed by Mr. Sarig Ubolbarn, Director of WTO/APEC Administration Section, Department of Trade Negotiations, Ministry of Commerce, Thailand, discussing “Thailand and World Trading System.” Additionally, representatives from the Food and Drug Administration, Ms. Sitanun Poonpolsub, Director of International Affairs Division, and Ms. Chadathorn Inyai, Pharmacist Practitioner Level, discussed “Food and Drug Administration Office and International Trade Collaboration.”

On Wednesday, March 27, participants engaged in a workshop titled “Negotiation Simulation and Role-play Exercises and Group Works,” facilitated by Mrs. Kamontip Pasoontarakarn Janu, Director of Non-Tariff Measures Section, Department of Trade Negotiations, Ministry of Commerce, Thailand, and representatives from the Food and Drug Administration.

Finally, a Special Talk titled “Lesson Learned from Experience: Global Exchange – Unleashing the Power of Trade Diplomacy” was delivered by Ms. Pornsiri Wiriyakraikul, Director of Planning and Assessment Section, Department of Trade Negotiations, Ministry of Commerce, Thailand, and Mr. Teeraphat Trangkatumkul, Minister Counsellor (Consultant), Department of International Economic Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
